Skin Disorder Turning Black Man’s Skin White
- With 7 comments

Fox 2 Detroit reporter Lee Thomas is experiencing something very unusual. Thomas, a black man, is turning white. He has a skin disorder called “vitiligo”, which destroys pigment-making cells. The condition affects 65 million people around the world, including as many as 2 million Americans.
“I’m a black man turning white on television and people can see it,” says Thomas, an anchor and entertainment reporter for the local Fox Broadcasting Company affiliate. “If you’ve watched me over the years, you’ve seen my hands completely change from brown to white.”
There’s no cure for vitiligo, so Thomas may turn mostly or completely white. Vitiligo is the condition well-known singer Michael Jackson revealed he was inflicted with in the 1990s. The condition isn’t fatal, but can destroy the confidence of the carrier. That’s not the life Thomas wants to live, however. He openly talks about vitiligo, even writing a book entitled “Turning White: A Memoir of Change”.

I believe Michael Jackson has vitiligo. At least that’s what it says on Wikipedia.

i also wish that i was black… what has difference become? a longing for the other side of the spectrum? what is racism anyway? jealousy?

While that makes sense it still doesn’t explain why Michael Jackson is now whiter than The Joker.
